Owensboro’s fall clear-out has two weeks of limb pickup left. After that, city crews switch to leaves, and OMU has added a free shred afternoon in between. Here’s what’s coming up and what to get done this week.
Why care + what to do this week
- Limbs first. Regular curbside limb pickup ends the week of Oct 19. If storm limbs, pruning piles or fence-line brush are still in the yard, set them out on your garbage day this week or next.
- Paper next. Missed the September shred day at the Sportscenter? OMU’s free shred is Wed Oct 21, 1–4pm. Start boxing old statements and tax files now. Five boxes is the cap.
- Leaves last. Look up your leaf zone on the city’s map and sign up for leaf-zone text alerts before collection starts Mon Oct 26.
