Every county in the Evansville Tri-State runs its own clear-out programs — dump days, tire amnesty, household hazardous waste, electronics, heavy trash — on its own calendar, on its own website, with its own rules about who qualifies. This page puts all of it in one place so you are not hunting eight county websites to get rid of a mattress and four old tires.
A warning worth knowing: several county and city pages are badly out of date. As of 13 September 2026, the City of Evansville’s own Tire Recycling Day page still shows a 2019 date, and its Tox Away Day page lists 2025 events with no 2026 dates posted. We check the official sources, publish what is actually confirmed, and say plainly when a date has not been posted yet rather than guessing.

Gibson County — Fall Household Hazardous Waste Day
- Saturday, October 17, 8:00 a.m. until noon
- Toyota Family Medical Center, 4924 S Maple Tree Drive, Princeton, IN 47670
- Open to all Gibson County residents — no businesses
- Takes medications, sharps, batteries, paint, oils and grease, household chemicals and pesticides, adhesives and sealers, fluorescent bulbs, electronics, televisions (limit 3), residential propane tanks, and regular recyclables

Vanderburgh County and Evansville
Tox Away Day. Vanderburgh County households only, no businesses. Runs twice a year, spring and fall, 8:00 a.m. to noon — past events have been held at the former Roberts Stadium parking lot (enter on E. Franklin Street behind Swonder Ice Arena) and at the Civic Center parking lot at 9th & Walnut. It takes motor oil and filters, oil-based paint, automotive batteries and fluids, solvents and thinners, gasoline, antifreeze, rechargeable batteries, pesticides and herbicides, thermometers and mercury, aerosol cans, household cleaners, glues and adhesives, photographic chemicals, pool chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, medicines other than controlled substances, propane tanks, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. 2026 dates are not posted on the city’s page. Tire Recycling Day. Vanderburgh County residents, no business tires. First four car or light-truck tires free, then $1 each; semi tires $10; tractor tires $25. Neighbourhood associations and civic groups collecting from public spaces can bring unlimited tires free. The city’s page still shows a 2019 date — no 2026 date is posted. Heavy trash. City utility customers can schedule bulky pickups. Availability changes during autumn leaf collection, so confirm before you set anything at the kerb: Evansville Solid Waste.
